In 2009 trustees and friends of the trust are devoting time and energy to three separate projects, each of which will further the aims of the trust.

The first project will be completed in August with the premiere of the documentary “Real N’ Raw.”  This film has been in production for 12 months and will provide a major source of revenue.  Bands that have contributed songs to the sound track for the documentary have donated their proceeds to the Trust, and we wish to acknowledge their generous gift.  Real N’ Raw documents the remarkable personal journey from serious childhood illness to health and vitality of Matthew Wilson, the film’s director and a Fruit For Our Children trustee.  It shows how to take control of your health by gradually eliminating the synthetic, toxic chemicals found in processed food and tap water and adding organic, raw food to reverse the disease process without prescription drugs.  The film and CD can be ordered on this site or for more details visit www.realnraw.com.

The second project is the establishment of a rural Centre for the Trust, a base of operations for community outreach, where education and training in aspects of nutrition and organic horticulture can be taught to both regional representatives and classes of school children on field trips.  The Centre would also monitor the networks and systems necessary for coordinating the distribution of fruit trees ready for planting.

The third project is starting a fruit tree nursery, on or near the Centre grounds.  This, together with participating growers, would become part of the fruit tree supply chain, also the hub of propagation activity for the Trust.  We are presently exploring sites and welcome discussions with interested parties; trustees are open to forming a strategic alliance with a horticulturist in Rodney, Kaipara or Auckland Districts.
