The founder and trustees of Fruit For Our Children  are New Zealander’s who recognised that access to food let alone healthy fruit is very limited in so many households of our children.  Most charities look to 3rd world nations as having malnourished children.  As a mother herself the founder is appauled by the state of this generation of kids that are plagued by so many health issues and deserve a better chance in life.  Bombarded with processed food from our first mouthful and swarmed with misinformation surrounding what it is to be healthy.  It was with this simple vision that Dana Louise Stewart came up with the idea of making a difference by setting up the FFOC charity to alleviate and provide a simple solution to this common problem.  Some of us will remember fruit trees in virtually every back yard and with your support some of us are young & inspired enough to bring back the simple wisdom of eating real food, grown in our own communities, ready for the picking.

We recognise how far we have gone from simple self sustainable principles and pleasures.  We recognise the urgency of this and are here to get our hands dirty, spread our health dollars and refocus the concept we should be putting time and energy into health and wellness not sickness and medical expenses.

The founder, Dana Louise Stewart, is a young visionary who wants to see all children have access to nourishing food that meets their nutritional needs.  To grow up  with healthy choices and share in the satisfaction of growing, harvesting and eating their own fruit.

The Trustees have created a plan to turn this vision into a reality with extensive networking country wide, including Transition Towns, Marae, Schools, Churches, Government Agencies and Back Yards everywhere.
